The Idea
Football teaches discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Debate teaches the same things — with words. Both build young people who can think clearly, stand their ground, and lead.
The debate season is not an afterthought. It is the other half of Ìṣẹ́yà — a foundation for mind and body.
Format
How the season works.
Two teams per debate
Each team has 3 speakers. One team proposes the motion, one opposes.
Two rounds, one motion
Each round runs 20 minutes of speeches and 10 minutes of rebuttal.
Three certified judges
Independent panel drawn from education, community leadership, and law.
Published results
Scores, feedback, and standings are posted within the same week.
A child who can argue with evidence, listen with respect, and speak without fear is a child who will shape their community.
